- Haven is made up of three brothers; Neal, Mike and Joel Benedict, along with Pat Connolly. All band members are over the age of 21 and Haven's music would most likely be considered alternative/modern rock. Mike is the lead guitarist, Joel is the rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Neal is on bass guitar and vocals, and Pat is the drummer.
Neal, Mike and Joel are originally from a small town called New Galilee, Pa outside of New Castle, Pa. They had been previously playing together and composing songs since about March of 2004. In October of 2005, drummer Pat Connolly was added to the line-up and has since contributed a great depth to the songs. Pat was also born and raised in the Pittsburgh area (Baldwin, Pa).
Haven has worked hard in the music business thus gaining a reputation around the local music scene with hopes to branch out more. Sets generally include originals with some cover songs thrown in the mix. Since the band's conception, Haven has maintained a loyal and diversified fan base ranging all ages. Below is a list of venues in which Haven has played along with the numerous Battle of the Bands including the Graffiti Rock Challenge, Emergenza Festival and Salty Grog's Battle of the Bands in which Haven took first place. Haven has also played with a few national acts opening up for bands such as Drowning Pool at The Wedge in Austintown, Oh; Operator at The Cellar in Struthers, Oh and Seether/Finger 11/Sick Puppies at the Chevrolet Center in Youngstown, Oh.
